How it works

How a serve works with PDQ

Seven steps, from the email you send to the invoice you pay. Nothing complicated, and nothing you have to chase.

Since 2003

Serving papers for law firms, with the tri-state area as home turf.

Attempted within 48 hours

Every job is handled as a rush. No upcharge for that.

Affidavit in one business day

Guaranteed after service is completed. Notary included.

No dispatcher

Status updates go straight to your email from the server.

Start to finish

The seven steps

01

You send the documents

Email PDFs to pdqlegalservices@yahoo.com or use the contact form. Include who's being served, where, and your deadline. We print everything here, and the first 50 pages are free.

02

We review them

Before anyone goes out, we check the papers and the address. If something is missing or the address looks wrong, you hear about it now. If the address is bad, we can run a skip trace.

03

First attempt within 48 hours

Every document is treated as a rush. The first attempt happens within 48 hours of receipt, and we keep going back at different times of day. Attempts are included in the price.

04

Status updates by email

Updates go directly to your email from the server while the job is open. If something changes, like a bad address or a lead on where the person is, you hear that too.

05

The papers are served

Service is made on the right person, and you get an email saying when and where.

06

Affidavit within one business day

The notarized affidavit of service comes back within one business day of completed service. Guaranteed, and the notary is included. If your court uses its own form, we fill that out instead. If service couldn't be made, you get an affidavit of due diligence.

07

You pay the invoice

You get one invoice, with any witness fee we covered already on it, and you can pay it online. Current rates are on the pricing page.

Checklist

What to put in the email

  • The documents, as PDFs
  • The name of the person or business being served
  • The best address you have, plus any others
  • Your deadline, or the return or appearance date
  • Anything that helps find them: a description, work hours, a vehicle, a gate code or building details
  • Whether a witness fee needs to go with a subpoena
  • Your court's affidavit form, if it uses its own
  • Who at your office should get the email updates

Options along the way

When a job needs more than the standard

Custom rush

Service on a specific day or at a specific time. Flat rate on the pricing page. More on rush service.

Skip tracing and stakeouts

Advanced skip traces to find a current address, and hourly stakeouts when someone can only be caught at one place. Difficult serves.

Domestication and mobile notary

Out-of-state subpoenas domesticated, and a notary who drives to you. Both are priced on request.

From a client

“He gets the job done no matter what time of day or night, no matter what the location, and communicates throughout the entire process… if I ask him to serve a Complaint, it will get done without me having to follow up every day to see how the process is going.”
